Chica-chica- CHICATANAS!!!

Last night the giant flying ants known as CHICATANAS emerged from their hard earthen nests, softened and released by Hurricane Carlotta's heavy rains. Oaxacans are definitely bug eaters! Known primarily for their affinity for chapulines, little crickets, Oaxacans Really celebrate the arrival of the CHICATANAS. At 5 am I observed a man and woman filling Super Che grocery bags in the beam of the headlights of their car parked on our street! I have been told that they are valuable, about 50 pesos a kilo. I found this great video, enjoy!
